Rod Specs.

So what do you do when you have 3 years and $250K to spend after selling your last rod company (Moonshine Rods)?  You use your decade of industry knowledge and experience to create the fly rod blank that fixes every problem you've ever encountered in the blank industry.  The Tidewater Virtue is proprietary to Tidewater Rods, LLC and masterfully crafted in Japan (think Samarai Swords, Toyota Trucks, Etc).  They are constructed of 40 ton nano matrix graphite that took almost 3 years to perfect.  You will not find these rod blanks available to any other brand, as I own the designs.  All Tidewater Rods also include an industry standard Lifetime Warranty.  Our blanks are a mid flex with a fast tip.  All ferrule sections (where each section connects) have a hybrid mix, AKA a higher modulus weave of glass and carbon in those areas to make it more powerful, yet still keep the rod a bit loose so you can really feel your back cast.  Feeling your backcast is one of the most important parts of casting a fly rod, as this lets you know when your line has traveled to the correct position to complete beautiful, targeted, and powerful forward casts. This means further casting, higher sensitivity, but with the power to punch big flies through common inshore winds.  Even professional casters are blown away by its responsiveness.  The days of super stiff, fast action, non responsive fly rods is over.  Its time to trade in your broomstick for a rod that you can feel, cast better than ever, and built by industry leaders who do more research than our wives would like!  (We've got the sunglass tans to prove it!).  Our rods can be found on Guide/Captains Charter Skiffs all along the eastern coastline, gulf coast, Big western rivers, all the way to the bonefish flats of Hawaii.  These are not rods you keep in your closet and forget about.  Once you cast a Tidewater Virtue, you will have a hard time putting it down and calling "last cast".  Every rod is hand built by our owner, Jon Lavezzo.  Fly Industry veteran, Rodsmith, and serial entrepreneur with over 4,000 hand built rods under his belt and close to 100,000 fly rods sold under his brands since 2014.

The average weight of a 6wt 9ft Tidewater Virtue being only 3.4 oz.  Compare this to a 6wt 9ft $1000+ Sage R8 at 3.25oz or TFO Axiom at 3.3oz.  Are you really interested in spending an extra $651 for 0.1oz?

I designed this blank with the durability to withstand even the harshest saltwater conditions.  Match that with a super high tonnage rating, superior castability, and price point, and we feel we have the competition beat!  All rods are returnable within 15 days if you are not completely satisfied with how it performs.  Please see the Returns/Warranty section for more info.
